National People's Party (NPP) candidate Usham Manglem is contesting from the Wangjing-Tentha assembly seat in Thoubal district. He is the youngest contender in this year's Manipur assembly polls. The 25-year-old holds a Bachelor's degree in commerce from Manipur University after completing his schooling from Fr Agnel School in Delhi. He joined the NSUI in Delhi (2013) and then the Manipur Pradesh Youth Congress Committee in 2018, before switching to NPP. He holds a vision for a robust education system, proper healthcare infrastructure, empowering youths and self-reliance for the people of Manipur. A resident of Kairembikhok Awang Leikai in Thoubal district, Manglem will face sitting MLA Paonam Brojen of the BJP in Wangjing-Tentha in the second phase of polling on March 5.
