Manipur Election: Khurai (GEN) Assembly Constituency 2022

Khurai (GEN) is the assembly constituency which comes under the Imphal district. It is one of the 60 Manipur Legislative Assembly Constituencies . Manipur Assembly Election 2022 for Khurai (GEN) will be held on February 27 and the result was declared on March 10.

In the Manipur Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Khurai (GEN) constituency had 3 candidates for assembly seat contention. Khurai (GEN) was one of 21 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Leishangthem Susindro Meitei won the election by upstaging Indian National Congress's Dr. Ngairangbam Bijoy Singh by a margin of 1,944 votes.

97.2% of the total votes were casted to top two candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Leishangthem Susindro Meitei got a total of 15,005 votes, while Indian National Congress's Dr. Ngairangbam Bijoy Singh got 13,061 votes. Communist Party Of India's candidate R.K.Amusana grabbed 800 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties secured 52.0%, 45.2% and 2.8% respectively.

In Manipur Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's Dr. Ng. Bijoy Singh outperformed All India Trinamool Congress's Leishangthem Shusindro Meitei @yaima by 5,089 votes.
