Manipur Election: Lamsang Assembly Constituency 2022

Lamsang is one of the 60 Manipur Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Imphal West district. Manipur Assembly Election 2022 for Lamsang will be held on February 27 and the result was declared on March 10.

In 2017, the Lamsang assembly seat had 30,267 registered voters. Of the, 15,033 were male and 15,234 were female voters. 0.6% of votes were casted for NOTA.

What happened last time

In 2017, 3 candidates were contesting for Lamsang assembly constituency seat. Lamsang was one of 21 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was a close contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Sorokhaibam Rajen Singh winning the election upstaging Indian National Congress's Wangkheimayum Brajabidhu Singh by a margin of just 1,280 votes.

100.0% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Sorokhaibam Rajen Singh grabbed a total of 12,593 votes, while Indian National Congress's Wangkheimayum Brajabidhu Singh got 11,313 votes. North East India Development Party's candidate Phijam Pakchao Singh bagged 3,956 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 45.2%, 40.6% and 14.2% respectively.

In Manipur Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's Wangkheimayum Brajabidhu Singh beat Nationalist Congress Party's Sorokhaibam Rajen Singh by 3,144 votes.
