Lok Jan Shakti Party's Karam Shyam won the election by upstaging Bharatiya Janata Party's O. Joy Singh by a margin of 2,331 votes.

80.3% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Lok Jan Shakti Party's Karam Shyam grabbed a total of 9,625 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's O. Joy Singh got 7,294 votes. North East India Development Party's candidate Ningombam Nilakumar Singh bagged 2,806 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 39.2%, 29.7% and 11.4% respectively.
