Manipur Election: Mao (st) Assembly Constituency 2022

Mao (st) comes under the Senapati district and it is one of the 60 Manipur Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Mao (st) voted for Manipur Assembly Election 2022 on March 3 and the result was declared on March 10.

Mao (st) assembly constituency had 53,841 electors in 2017, out of which 27,025 were male voters and 26,816 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.1% votes.

What happened last time

In the Manipur Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Mao (st) constituency had 4 candidates for assembly seat contention. Total 4 seats were won by the Naga Peoples Front, Mao (st) was one of them. The election for Mao (st) seat was comfortably won by Naga Peoples Front's Losii Dikho defeating Bharatiya Janata Party's Woba Joram by a huge margin of 15,414 votes.

The top three candidates split 89.6% of votes between them. Naga Peoples Front's Losii Dikho got a total of 25,933 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's Woba Joram secured 10,519 votes. Indian National Congress's candidate P.T. Arhai grabbed the third spot with 7,604 votes. The top three parties got 52.8%, 21.4% and 15.5% respectively.

In Manipur Assembly election 2012, Naga Peoples Front's Dikho outperformed Indian National Congress's P. T. Arhai by 8,930 votes.
