Manipur Election: Sagolband Assembly Constituency 2022

Sagolband comes under the Imphal West district and it is one of the 60 Manipur Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Sagolband voted for Manipur Assembly Election 2022 on February 27 and the result was declared on March 10.

Sagolband assembly constituency had 23,064 electors in 2017, out of which 10,831 were male voters and 12,233 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.7% votes.

What happened last time

In the 2017 Manipur Legislative Assembly Election, there were 4 candidates in the fray from Sagolband constituency. Sagolband was one of 28 seats won by the Indian National Congress. It was an extremely close fight, with Indian National Congress's Rajkumar Imo Singh narrowly winning the election upstaging Bharatiya Janata Party's Dr. Khwairakpam Loken Singh by a slim margin of 19 votes.

94.8% of the total votes were casted to top two candidates. Indian National Congress's Rajkumar Imo Singh got a total of 9,211 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's Dr. Khwairakpam Loken Singh got 9,192 votes. National People's Party's candidate G. Satyabati Devi grabbed 982 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties secured 47.4%, 47.3% and 5.1% respectively.

In Manipur Assembly election 2012, Manipur State Congress Party's Rajkumar Imo Singh beat Indian National Congress's Dr. Khwairakpam Loken Singh by 419 votes.
