Manipur Election: Uripok Assembly Constituency 2022

Uripok is one of the 60 Manipur Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Imphal West district. Manipur Assembly Election 2022 for Uripok will be held on February 27 and the result was declared on March 10.

In 2017, the Uripok assembly seat had 23,762 registered voters. Of the, 11,259 were male and 12,503 were female voters. 1.2% of votes were casted for NOTA.

What happened last time

In 2017, 4 candidates were contesting for Uripok assembly constituency seat. Uripok was one of 4 seats won by the National People's Party. It was a close contest with National People's Party's Yumnam Joykumar Singh winning the election upstaging Indian National Congress's Laishram Nandakumar Singh by a margin of just 345 votes.

The top three candidates split 93.3% of votes between them. National People's Party's Yumnam Joykumar Singh got a total of 6,469 votes, while Indian National Congress's Laishram Nandakumar Singh secured 6,124 votes. Bharatiya Janata Party's candidate Dr. Nameirakpam Dwijamani Singh grabbed the third spot with 5,986 votes. The top three parties got 32.5%, 30.8% and 30.1% respectively.

In Manipur Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's L. Nandakumar Singh outperformed independent candidate N. Dwijamani Singh by 1,085 votes.
