Wangoi is one of the 60 Manipur Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Imphal West district. People of Wangoi voted for Manipur Assembly Election 2022 on February 27 and the result was declared on March 10.

It was an extremely close fight, with Indian National Congress's Oinam Lukhoi Singh narrowly winning the election upstaging National People's Party's Khuraijam Loken Singh by a slim margin of 36 votes.
82.0% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Indian National Congress's Oinam Lukhoi Singh grabbed a total of 7,443 votes, while National People's Party's Khuraijam Loken Singh got 7,407 votes. Bharatiya Janata Party's candidate Salam Joy Singh bagged 6,590 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 28.5%, 28.3% and 25.2% respectively.
In Manipur Assembly election 2012, All India Trinamool Congress's Oinam Lukhoi Singh outperformed Nationalist Congress Party's Salam Joy Singh by 182 votes.
