Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Awadhpal Singh Yadav grabbed the third spot with 46,275 votes. The top three parties got 41.2%, 34.8% and 21.5% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Rameshwar Singh defeated Bahujan Samaj Party's Sanghmitra Maurya by 26,021 votes.
