Balrampur is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Balrampur district. People of Balrampur voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on March 3 and the result was declared on March 10.

In 2017, the Balrampur assembly seat had 4,10,716 registered voters. Of the, 2,27,250 were male and 1,83,466 were female voters. 0.8% of votes were casted for NOTA.

What happened last time

In the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election, there were 11 candidates in the fray from Balrampur constituency. Balrampur was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Palturam won the election upstaging Indian National Congress's Shivlal by a margin of 24,860 votes.

94.8% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Palturam grabbed a total of 89,401 votes, while Indian National Congress's Shivlal got 64,541 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Ram Sagar Akela bagged 26,011 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 47.1%, 34.0% and 13.7% respectively.

In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Jagram Paswan defeated Bharatiya Janata Party's Ramapati Shastri by 18,262 votes.
