Uttar Pradesh Election: Chhata Assembly Constituency 2022

Chhata comes under the Mathura district and it is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Chhata voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on February 10 and the result was declared on March 10.

Chhata assembly constituency had 3,40,111 electors in 2017, out of which 1,87,032 were male voters and 1,53,079 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.4% votes.

What happened last time

In the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election, there were 8 candidates in the fray from Chhata constituency. Chhata was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was a one way contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Laxmi Narayan comfortably winning the election upstaging independent candidate Atul Singh by a huge margin of 63,838 votes.

94.0% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Laxmi Narayan grabbed a total of 1,17,537 votes, while independent candidate Atul Singh got 53,699 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Manoj Pathak bagged 41,290 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 52.0%, 23.8% and 18.3% respectively.

In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Rashtriya Lok Dal's Tejpal Singh outperformed Bahujan Samaj Party's Laxminarayan by 14,594 votes.
