The Apna Dal (Kamerawadi) president is contesting from the Pratapgarh Sadar assembly constituency as an SP ally. Krishna became the party president after the passing away of its founder Dr Sonelal Patel. She is the mother of Union minister and Apna Dal (S) president Anupriya Patel who decided not to field a candidate against her mother. Her party enjoys the support of a considerable section of the Patel community (OBC). She contested the last assembly elections from Rohania constituency as an Independent candidate but lost the polls. Her main rivals are Neeraj Tripathi of the Congress, Ashutosh Tripathi of the Bahujan Samaj Party, and Rajendra Kumar of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
