Maharajpur is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Kanpur Nagar district. People of Maharajpur voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on February 20 and the result was declared on March 10.
Maharajpur assembly constituency had 4,09,025 electors in 2017, out of which 2,28,016 were male voters and 1,81,009 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.3% votes.
In the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election, there were 12 candidates in the fray from Maharajpur constituency. Maharajpur was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was a one way contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Satish Mahana comfortably winning the election upstaging Bahujan Samaj Party's Manoj Kumar Shukla by a huge margin of 91,826 votes.
89.9% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Satish Mahana grabbed a total of 1,32,394 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Manoj Kumar Shukla got 40,568 votes. Samajwadi Party's candidate Aruna Tomar bagged 38,752 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 56.2%, 17.2% and 16.5% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Bharatiya Janata Party's Satish Mahana beat Bahujan Samaj Party's Shikha Mishra by 29,889 votes.
