West Bengal Election: Kankrej Assembly Constituency 2022

In 2017, 5 candidates were contesting for Kankrej assembly constituency seat. Kankrej was one of 99 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was a close contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Kirtisinh Prabhatsinh Vaghela winning the election upstaging Indian National Congress's Jalera Dineshji Dharsiji by a margin of just 8,588 votes.

The top two candidates split 96.8% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Kirtisinh Prabhatsinh Vaghela got a total of 95,131 votes, while Indian National Congress's Jalera Dineshji Dharsiji secured 86,543 votes. Independent candidate Thakor Lebuji Bhudarji secured 3,037 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 50.7%, 46.1% and 1.6% respectively.

What happened last time

In Gujarat Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's Khanpura Dharshibhai Lakhabhai beat Bharatiya Janata Party's Vaghela Kirtisinh Prabhatsinh by 600 votes.
