87.6% of the total votes were casted to top two candidates. All India Trinamool Congress's Ranajit Mondal got a total of 1,03,699 votes, while independent candidate Asim Kumar Mandal got 61,214 votes. Bharatiya Janta Party's candidate Patra Swadesh Ranjan grabbed 17,064 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties secured 55.1%, 32.5% and 9.1% respectively.
In West Bengal Assembly election 2011, All India Trinamool Congress's Ranajit Mondal beat Samajwadi Party's Asim Kumar Mandal by 16,160 votes.
