Nushrratt Bharuccha says people won't go to theatres for her, recalls person didn't recognise her at film's screening

Nushrratt Bharuccha says that she knows people won't go to theatres to watch her and she is yet to reach that stage. She will now be seen in Janhit Mein Jaari.

Nushrratt Bharuccha has said that she recently went for a screening of her new film, Janhit Mein Jaari, and met a person who did not recognise her. She added that she has no issues with such an encounter because she knows that she is yet to reach the stage where people will go to theatres to watch Nushrratt. ()

Nushrratt is playing the lead role in her upcoming film, Janhit Mein Jaari and has been headlining the promotions of the film as well. She essays the role of condom seller in the the film that also stars Anud Dhaka, Annu Kapoor and Paritosh Tripathi.

Asked about her newfound success, Nushrratt told Prabhat K, "There is no such thing (success). I went for a show last night and I had to say that I am Nushrratt Bharuccha. The person would not recognise me. I do not have any issue with this as I know very well that I am yet to reach the stage where people go to theatres to watch Nushrratt Bharuccha. They will go to watch Janhit Mein Jaari. They will go to watch Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety. Films have been, and will always be bigger than me. People did not even know my name till Akashvaani and Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2."

Having started her career with the 2002 TV show Kittie Party, Nushrratt soon switched to Bollywood with Jai Santoshi Maa in 2006. Luv Ranjan’s Pyaar Ka Punchnama franchise and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety brought her success and fame. Most recently, she has worked in films such as Amazon Prime Video's Chhorii, Hansal Mehta's Chhalaang and Netflix anthology Ajeeb Daastaans.
