Some cheer for Govinda: Son Yashvrdhn Ahuja locks Bollywood debut with Hero Ki Horrorine, co-starring mom Sunita Ahuja

Actor Govinda is facing significant upheaval in his personal life these days. His wife, Sunita Ahuja, has taken public potshots against him, accusing him of infidelity. But at the same time, Sunita has withdrawn her divorce petition, adding to the drama. Amid all this, there is some cheer for the Ahuja family. Yashvardhan, Govinda and Sunita's son, is set to debut in Bollywood with an upcoming horror comedy.

Govinda's son and wife venture into acting

On Thursday, the makers of the film Hero Ki Horrorine announced that Yashvardhan will star alongside Nitanshi Goel of Laapataa Ladies fame. The film also features Jamie Lever, Chunky Pandey, Brijendra Kala and Simrat Kaur Randhawa. But most interestingly, Sunita Ahuja will play Yash's mother in the film. The film is slated to release in theatres on January 7, 2027.

Directed by Sajid Khan, 'Hero Ki Horrorine' is produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R. Kapoor and Amar Butala. More details regarding the film are awaited.

Sunita Ahuja on Yash's Bollywood debut

Earlier, speaking with ANI, Sunita spoke about her role in the film. “Main Yash ke saath picture kar rahi hoon. Main Ektaa Kapoor ko bahut pyaar karti hoon. Unki wajah se maine Netflix ka show kiya, aur main unse bahut pyaar karti hoon. Woh bhi mujhe bahut pyaar karti hain. Yash ki picture mein main uski maa ka hi role kar rahi hoon... Shayad industry mein pehli baar aisa hoga ki maa aur beta ek saath launch ho rahe hain. (I'm working on a film with Yash. I have immense love and respect for Ekta Kapoor. It was because of her that I did a Netflix show, and we share a wonderful bond. In Yash's film, I'm playing his mother. Perhaps I think it's the first time in the industry that a mother and son are being launched together),” she shared.

Govinda's tumultuous personal life

The latest allegations follow reports that Govinda and Komal Rani Swarnkar were spotted together at an airport. Following their appearance together, Sunita made strong comments about the actor. Speaking to paparazzi, she called Govinda “Komal's sugar daddy” while questioning their equation. Govinda reacted by calling Sunita to check her language.

Govinda's comeback to Bollywood

Amid the controversy surrounding his personal life, Govinda is also preparing to return to the big screen with Roopa after nearly seven years away from the film industry. Roopa also introduces Komal Rani Swarnkar as the film's female lead.
