Industry reacts on Lisa's revelation

Outpouring of love and shock from the film fraternity after lisa ray’s revelation.

Actress Lisa Ray’s revelation on her blog that she is suffering from Multiple Myeloma, a relatively rare and incurable cancer of the bone marrow, has left the film and fashion world shocked. On her blog The Yellow Diaries (http://lisaraniray.wordpress.com/) Lisa wrote on Monday, “I’m going to do everything I can to wrench the spotlight onto Myeloma and cancer awareness... It can be cured.”

Shamim Sarif, the director of Lisa’s upcoming flick I Can’t Think Straight tweets, “I have known since her diagnosis, but at this point Lisa wants to truly raise awareness and funding to make sure this incurable disease finds a cure.”
Filmmaker Vikram Bhatt is trying to reach out to the actress he worked with in Kasoor. “I can’t believe, I am shocked. I don’t have her contact details, but I’m trying to get them.”

Actor Parvin Dabas, who worked with Lisa in The World Unseen, is upset. “I wish her a speedy recovery. She is a great person and a wonderful co-star. Why do bad things happen to good people?” he asks. Veteran actress Seema Biswas, who shared screen space with her in Water, says, “Oh God! It’s terrible news. It’s disheartening to hear about her going through such pain. I spoke to her on Monday and was to meet her in Canada soon. I hope she recovers soon.”

Responses also started pouring in from supporters and fans seconds after Lisa posted about her condition. Writes Nisha, “I will support you forever... You can do it... Just be happy and enjoy your life:). Blogs Anita Y, “Lisa, you will be fine. Don’t worry about this trouble. No matter what, you are the best one. We all love you.”
