Actor Anu Aggarwal who debuted opposite Rahul Roy with Mahesh Bhatt’s cult film, Aashiqui, 24 years back made a rare appearance at a Mumbai event, recently. The 45-year-old is known to practise holistic yoga and fine arts nowadays.

Aashiqui (1990), a musical captured the imagination of youth audience. The film's lead stars Rahul Roy and Anu Aggarwal shot to fame overnight.

Her subsequent films failed to re-create the magic of her debut movie. After playing the sweet girl-next-door in Aashiqui, Anu turned vicious for her out-and-out grey character in Saawan Kumar's Khal-Nayika. In the film, she plays Puneet Issar's wife, who targets Jeetendra and Jaya Prada to avenge the death of her husband. It was a strong role, but the film tanked miserably.
