Naga Chaitanya’s Shailaja Reddy Alludu initially seemed like a story about a mother-in-law who thinks that no one is good enough for her daughter. Shailaja is played by Ramya Krishnan, her daughter is played by Anu Emmanuel while Naga Chaitanya plays his namesake and the unfortunate man who falls in love with the daughter. The trailer of the film released on Friday and it tells the story of a man caught in a hilarious tug-of-war between the love of his life and her mother.
In the trailer, Chaitanya complains about his father who loves to scold him, a beautiful girl who has the temper of a devil and a mother-in-law who is even worse than them. How Chaitanya manages to live through the constant conflict and unrest seems to be the crux of the film.
Shailaja Reddy Alludu is directed by Maruthi Dasari and produced by S Radha Krishna, Naga Vamsi S, PDV Prasad under the banner Sithara Entertainments. The film is slated to release on September 13, on the occasion of Vinayaka Chaturthi.
Naga Chaitanya’s wife, actor Samantha Akkineni’s film U Turn will also be releasing on the same day. Samantha in fact has a Tamil film, Seema Raja also slated to release on September 13 making this an important weekend for the Akkineni family.
