Former Real Housewives of New York star Carole Radziwill has stunned fans by admitting that she purposely "dumbed herself down" to fit in with her co-stars. In a recent interview, the former journalist and author revealed that she wished she had been more open about her impressive career achievements, including her time spent reporting from war zones and refugee camps.

"I made myself smaller to be on the show," Carole said. "I think I would've been considered much more formidable...but in the end, I didn't want to show off."

Carole also admitted that she never watched RHONY before she was cast, and that she found the women's behavior and drinking habits shocking.

Despite leaving RHONY after Season 10 and publicly feuding with former bestie Bethenny Frankel, Carole hasn't ruled out a return to reality TV. "I'd go on a girls trip with the coolest, most fun chick from each city," she said, referring to the new show Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip. "But I don't know who that is because I don't watch 'Housewives'."
