Actor Nehha Pendse repudiates the idea of having a baby just for the heck of it. “Motherhood, so far, is not a calling for me. I’ve had that strong mindset when I was 31,” shares Pendse. She admits, initially, she did have “FOMO” when her peers were getting married and pregnant. “There comes a phase when you are embarrassed why you don’t have an inkling towards motherhood. But then comes a phase when you accept that it is normal,” she elaborates.

Pendse believes “work, family, and kids” just can’t be a requisite for a great life. “My internal fight has been ‘do I want a kid?’ I’ve been working for a long time. I feel I have not lived my life enough. I’m an independent woman. Right now, I don’t want to take another responsibility and feel like I’ve to live for someone else. Maybe a few years down the line I feel full enough to give my life and experience to my baby,” explains the 37-year-old actor.
What does she aspire from her upcoming year? Pendse quips, “I need to keep a balance between my work and private life. Sometimes we are in a rut to achieve things, but then we miss out on our personal things. I need to reroute my life. There’s more to life than just acting. I’m still ambitious. But I don’t find happiness in just acting anymore. I want to explore more.”
