Attention ladies! Imagine the horror of a woman whose breasts are surgically removed but in vain. A California woman who underwent a double mastectomy only to realise later that she didn't need it. The woman will be paid a whopping $198,000 after winning a medical malpractice lawsuit.
After external pathologists confirmed breast cancer, Ana Jimenez-Salgado had her breasts surgically removed at a Los Angeles hospital, Associated Press reported.

To her horror, later when she went for a reconstructive surgery, the hospital pathologists concluded that Anna never had breast cancer.
Anna in her lawsuit has alleged that the hospital was negligent in blindly believing outside pathologists' diagosis and conducting a double mastectomy which she didn't need.
The hospital has admitted that it failed to review her biopsy specimens.
