It was a sight to behold. Salman Khan walking down the ramp flanked by all of Bollywood’s top leading ladies. A spectacle that could just top Karan Johar’s feat of getting Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Hrithik Roshan to dance together on the same stage.

The show was designed to span the decades, starting with the 1920s, and was opened by Preity Zinta in a black halter dress and wide-brimmed hat, playing coy with a pink feather in her hand. Dressed in a maroon floor-length velvet gown, and looking fitter than ever, was Katrina Kaif, putting those break-up rumours to rest.

With the theme from Mughal-E-Azam playing in the background, the crowd cheered when Rani Mukherjee emerged, in a velvet ‘lehenga’. The actor, who’s been missing from the big screen for a while, took the opportunity to practice her ‘adaab’ (greetings), eliciting roars from the audience. Bipasha Basu, in a skin-tight black dress, took to the ramp next as the face of the ’50s, followed by Karisma Kapoor in a pink sari by Manish Malhotra, pouting and preening as a screen siren of the ’60s.

And last, but making sure she didn’t have the least attention, Kareena Kapoor entered in a cleavage-revealing black pantsuit and cracking a whip. After they were joined on ramp by Salman Khan, the actresses finished their romp dressed in Being Human tank tops of different colours. Holding hands, hugging and grinning like best friends, it looked like rivalries had been put to rest, even if only for a photo-op.
