Celeb inspiration for glam, dramatic eye make-up

Geometric tips, exaggerated cat eyes with wide-spread wings and luscious faux lashes to top your look — let your peepers make a dramatic statement.

For those who believe in the ‘wake up when you make-up’ philosophy, take a cue ladies, because drama-infused peepers are back in beautydome. While a simple swipe on the waterline or a slim strip of eyeliner on the upper lashline will always make for a classic look, exaggerated wings, strongly-cut creases and flutter-perfect faux lashes are what celebs are opting for. Colour, too, is a vital part of the makeup mix.

“Use colour pencils to give a unique touch to your eye makeup. Go for coral hues or bold berry shades for your eyeshadow. If you like experimenting, try coloured faux lashes,” suggests makeup expert Kanikka Gauraav Tandon. Even though there are basic tricks and tools that can give your eyes that oomph factor, the ‘rule of balance’ still stands strong. For example, if you feel like doing a bold lip, keep the eyes simple. "If going for a statement lip colour, don’t go heavy on the eyes or any other part of the face — you don’t want to look over the top. Maybe you could go for a striking,single-stroke of eyeliner coupled with dark lips if you want to draw attention to both," says makeup expert Puja Taluja.
