The man who designed American First Lady Michelle Obama's inauguration ceremony gown has been applauded by animal lovers for not using fur for the dress. Jason Wu won acclaim for the off-shoulder dress he styled for Michelle, and now America's Humane Society is lauding him for ditching fur, reported contactmusic.com

"We are delighted that Jason Wu has put aside the cruelty of fur for now, and hope he will adopt a permanent fur-free policy," said a spokesperson of the Humane Society of the United States.

"Michelle Obama set the sartorial tone for the new administration by choosing to not wear fur at the inauguration, and it's wonderful to see Wu follow suit," he added.
