Adarsh Gill’s transition from cocktail evenings to wedding night... Queenie’s jewellery for all occasions related to the big day, Bhairavi Jaikishen’s traditional outfits for tying the nuptial knot, and a host of starts — on and off the runway — marked the second day of Aamby Valley India Bridal Week.
Adarsh Gill made sure that her creations would be apt not just for the bride’s big day, but for pre-functions surrounding the wedding as well. The designer’s creations such as embroidered dresses and gowns, beautifully made and impeccably finished in a host of colours, were just perfect for a stylish cocktail evening before or after a wedding. Slowly, the progression of the collection reached traditional wedding attire with elaborate embroidery and had everything that spelt style. The saris were particularly appealing.
Queenie Singh’s collection of exquisitely made jewellery using rubies, emeralds and diamonds in the company of other precious stones made an exciting presentation on the runway, with her line up of models wearing beautiful and stylish drapes made by Ramona Narang. Queenie used both yellow and white gold in her collection, giving them a twist of tradition and extreme contemporariness. The pieces had, both, extensive appearance as well as a somewhat minimalist appeal about them.

If all that glitters is not gold, it could include wedding attire too. Bhairavi Jaikishen’s collection of colourful bridal wear had glitz running through quite steadily all through her showing. Essentially traditional in appeal, the designer decided to keep her brides in a riot of colours with elaborate and shiny surface detailing.
