Kangana Ranaut felt like she would break into a Victorian style dialogue as she walked the ramp for designer Anju Modi at the Hindustan Times and Sunil Sethi Design Alliance’s India Couture Week 2018.

Kangana Ranaut looked every bit the Victorian queen on the first day Hindustan Times and Sunil Sethi Design Alliance’s India Couture Week 2018 in Delhi on Wednesday. What’s more is that she was feeling a part of the era too.

The actor, who was the showstopper for fashion designer Anju Modi’s Victorian Age inspired fashion show, said she felt in character after wearing the luxurious outfit. “This is a Victorian theme and as you can see I have taken it very seriously. Not all the models. I have done the hair also and everything,” she said. “So I am like in full character and feel like I will soon break into a dialogue,” Kangana added.

Anju Modi’s collection was titled A Maiden’s Prayer. Through her outfits, she brought alive the historically significant era through cuts, silhouettes and designs. Rich and heavy fabrics such as velvet, silk and brocade were spotted throughout, and to make it even dreamier, Modi stuck to a jewel tone palette.

Kangana wore a head-turning cream lehenga with a very Victorian-style luxe velvet jacket, complete with cape sleeves and bouquets of floral embroidery sprinkled with delicate beading. The actor topped off the look with her hair styled into a half-do with voluminous curls.

The first day of the couture week was kicked off by Tarun Tahiliani’s collection. He put up a gorgeous display of lehengas, sarees and gowns adorned in sheer and sequins. Actor Aditi Rao Hydari brought an ethereal charm to his show as the showstopper.

India Couture Week, presented by Hindustan Times and Sunil Sethi Design Alliance, will be on from July 25 to July 29, in Delhi.
