India Couture Week 2018 begins on a glamourous note as actress Aditi Rao Hydari walks the ramp for couture king Tarun Tahiliani in a lehenga that every bride-to-be would dream of.

Aditi Rao Hydari opened the Hindustan Times and Sunil Sethi Design Alliance’s India Couture Week 2018 on a glitzy note on Wednesday when she walked the ramp for designer Tarun Tahiliani. His collection, In Elysium, celebrates the modern Indian goddess who is all ready to embrace luxury and yet have fun.

Staying true to his collection’s brief, Tahiliani’s muse Aditi Rao Hydari looked like a vision in a shimmering, off-shoulder peach lehenga with a train adorned with bright embroidered flowers. With minimal make-up, Aditi let the lehenga do all the talking. The look was completed with a choker and a low-bun adorned with delicate flowers.

Keeping in tune with the rest of the designer’s collection, Aditi’s lehenga too boasted of non-traditional colours moving away from reds and maroons. The vivid, 3-dimensional flower detailing on the train is something that’s never seen in any couture collection before this.

In an earlier interview to Hindustan Times, Tahiliani had hinted at a collection that made use of fabrics such as tulle and georgette. These fabrics offer lightness but at the same time add volume and enhance movement – something every bride would love in her outfit (remember, these will look great for your ‘twirling’ shots).

India Couture Week, presented by Hindustan Times and Sunil Sethi Design Alliance, will be on from July 25 to July 29, in Delhi.
