It’s raining men, and a woman. Van Huesen Men’s Fashion Week has found an unlikely brand ambassador in TV anchor Mandira Bedi, who will tweet from the shows, quiz designers on fashion and, of course, play the social butterfly at the event, to be held in the Capital during August 27-29.
Interestingly, Mandy may even walk the ramp in the all-men’s event! “If I can find a designer whose clothes suit my personality, I’d love to be a showstopper,” she says. “I was approached because I’ve been associated with male dominated zones, like cricket. Plus, I’m kind of at an androgynous phase these days, in the way I look.”
If the organisers had their way, though, Mandira would’ve had to share the spotlight with actress Chitrangada Singh. “We wanted Mandira and Chitrangada both on board, but Chitrangada had date issues. A woman will bring a new perspective,”says FDCI president Sunil Sethi.
