FIFA U-17 World Cup final: Four detained for black marketing tickets in Kolkata

Four persons were detained for black marketing tickets of the FIFA U-17 World Cup final between England and Spain through online platforms.

Four persons were on Saturday detained for black marketing tickets of the FIFA U-17 World Cup final around the Salt Lake Stadium. (FIFA U-17 WC Final England vs Spain Highlights)

Commissioner of the Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate, Gyanwant Singh told reporters that three persons were arrested from near Hyatt Hotel and the other one was arrested from near Gate No 2 of the stadium.

“They were selling tickets through the online platforms,” Singh said, adding that the arrested were being interrogated for details.

The final saw England clash with Spain and all tickets had been sold out.

The 17th edition of the FIFA U-17 World Cup in India turned out to be a milestone event as it became the most attended in the history of the tournament.

The Salt Lake Stadium has the highest attendance per match. The venue has so far logged a total of 542125 spectators from 10 games, at a staggering average of 54212 per match. The stadium has a total capacity of 66600.
