Guneet Kaur and her 46-year-old friend Harpreet Singh were sent to 14 days’ judicial custody by a city court on Thursday.

According to the police, 75-year-old Kulveer Singh and his wife had been living on the first floor of their house in Jacaranda Marg, DLF City Phase-2. Their daughter, who returned from the US in 1994 after parting with her husband, had been living along with Harpreet Singh on the ground floor of the house.

The family members often fought over property. Even the local police had tried to resolve the issue several times.

The woman wanted her parents to move out and transfer the house in her name, a police officer said.

On Wednesday, the daughter along with her friend assaulted the elderly couple. When their 35 year-old domestic help came to the rescue, the man tore off her clothes and assaulted her too, the officer said.
