“Ladwal and his friend were allegedly attacked with sharp and blunt objects on Saturday night,” sub-inspector (SI) Vedpal, the investigation officer in the case, said. An FIR was registered at Sohna City police station under section 379B (snatching) of the Indian Penal Code on Sunday.

Police were unable to arrest or identify any the accused till Monday evening.

According to the police complaint, two men on a motorcycle overtook the victims’ car and forced them to stop. “As my friend applied the brakes, around seven people surrounded us and started assaulting us,” Ladwal told the police.

Ladwal was attacked on his abdomen with a sharp object and Radav was hit on the head with a heavy object, the duo told police. The accused then searched the duo and took away their mobile phones and 7,500 in cash and fled. The victims told police that they could not identify the accused as it was dark. “There is no CCTV footage of the incident. We are yet to identify the accused,” the SI said.

There have been multiple such cases in the recent past. On February 22, a 20-year-old student was allegedly abducted by a group of five men who came on two motorcycles and he was beaten up and robbed of 7,000 and his mobile phone. The victim, a Delhi resident, was walking towards Huda City Centre Metro station from his office in Sector 44 when the incident took place.
