A non-resident Indian (NRI) from New Zealand, working in a private hospital in the city, has been booked on rape charges levelled against him by his 25-year-old live-in partner, who is an air hostess.

The complaint was filed on June 9 at the Women police station in Sector 51 in the city.
The man works with a leading private hospital in Sector 44 in the city.
Both the air hostess and the man lived in a house in an upscale locality near Huda City Centre for the last eight months. She allegedly met him for the first time at the hospital and they later began having a relationship.
The man had promised to marry the woman and they started living together in a rented accommodation. He, however, later changed his mind and refused to marry her, the woman alleged in her complaint. It was also learnt that he is already married.
The police registered the case on Monday and an investigation is underway.
Deepak Saharan, deputy commissioner of police (east), Gurgaon, said, “We are taking active steps in this case and examining all aspects related to the matter.”
