The nursery admission scenario in Gurgaon appears to be tougher than the Delhi University (DU) admissions. While students can take admission in a college and switch to a better one without much hassle if they qualify the cut off in DU, the high non-refundable fee charged by many nursery schools is leaving parents in a dilemma after some schools released the first admission list in Gurgaon.

Parents are unsure if they should grab the first opportunity at hand or wait for other schools to release their results.
Institutions such as The HDFC School in Sector 57, Suncity World School in Sector 53, KR Mangalam World School in South City 1 and Scottish High International School in Sector 57 have already released the first list of students or informed parents personally about the admissions.
Parents are hesitant in taking admission for their children in an institution that releases the list first because schools have fixed the non-refundable fee between `30,000 and `80,000. This makes it difficult for parents to withdraw their child if he/she gets admission in a preferred school.
A parent, requesting anonymity, said, “Suncity World School has a non-refundable fee of `30,000 and others like Scottish High International school and The HDFC school have `60,000 and `70,000. I wonder how any parent would agree to pay this amount and later withdraw their child?”
Dhruv Bansal, a parent who shared his confusion on a social media site, said, “I applied to seven schools for my daughter in pre-nursery for next academic session 2017-18. Now Suncity and KR Mangalam have already confirmed the seats and are asking us to complete all formalities within 5 working days of their confirmation letter. I am confused since other schools are yet to respond to my application...(sic)”

{{/usCountry}}Parents said the irregular and unregulated admission process is taking a toll on them. While a majority schools have started their admission procedure, others such as The Shri Ram Schools in Aravali and Moulsari, Shiv Nadar School in DLF Phase 1 and Ryan International School in Sector 40 are yet to start the process.
“Highly confused, my child got through nursery admission at Scottish High School and I need to deposit the fees by coming Wednesday. But I wanted to try Shiv Nadar School and The Shri Ram School as well because they are comparatively closer from my home. What to do? (sic)” Neha Ahluwalia posted on a social media website.
