The protestors said they have not been getting water supply for the last ten days and are compelled to buy water from private sources to meet their daily requirement.

They said the maintenance agency has failed to address their problems despite several complaints. Now they will approach the Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda).

Last week, the residents’ welfare association of the colony also staged a protest.

Manju Sharma, one of the protestors, said, “We are paying maintenance charges but not getting facilities. In the peak of summer we are not getting even a single drop of water.”

PROFAC, the company responsible for providing facilities, put the blame on power outages. “Erratic electricity supply through the past one week has been the main cause of disruption in water supply from our boosting stations at Sushant Lok. We have been, however, trying to supply water to the residents through tankers and have also asked Huda to ensure uninterrupted water supply,” said KD Akolia, director, PROFAC.

Several Huda sectors are facing water crisis this summer. Earlier, residents of DLF also staged a protest.

AK Gupta of Huda said, “We are supplying water to private coloniser as per their demands. After that it becomes the responsibility of the maintenance agencies to supply water in their areas.”
