Women want to be consulted by their husbands when it comes to buying a car, says a new survey.

According to the poll conducted by the German TNS Emnid institute for the women's magazine Lisa, only five per cent of the women interviewed left the decision to buy the car entirely to their husbands. Two-thirds said they made the decision together with the man in their life.

Some 18 per cent of the 264 women interviewed said they would choose a car with low fuel consumption.
