On the World Alzheimer's Day, here are four signs of the deadly disease:

1. One should watchout for forgetfulness -- it could be events or people. One might forget recent events and even fail to recognise family members.

2. With slow short-term memory loss, one tends to lose track of or misplace things frequently. This might include getting locked out of the house repeatedly or putting a shoe in the refrigerator.

3. Confusion is also an early sign of Dementia. One tends to get lost in familiar areas or forget details of familiar addresses.

4. One of the early signs of Alzheimer's is struggling to communicate thoughts the way one wants to. One tends to repeat the same word, sentence or story without realising once has said it before.
