Jurassic World is about to become the fastest film to cross $1 billion mark at the international box office.

According to Variety magazine, Universal's blockbuster dino flick, which has so far claimed $981.3 million, may beat the record set by Furious 7 in 17 days, after 13 days in theatres.

The Chris Pratt-starrer is now being eyed as a highest-grossing release of the year, with experts doubting if Star Wars: The Force Awakens would be able to compete with it.

Meanwhile, Disney and Pixar's Inside Out earned a robust $41 million from 41 territories, but the film is yet to release in many European countries, and won't land in China until July 30.
