Avika Gor
Avika Gor was hospitalised after being diagnosed with dengue. On August 7, the actor’s husband, Milind Chandwani, posted on social media about her health. Speaking to us, Chandwani revealed that Avika had been battling a high fever of 103–104°F and continued shooting despite being extremely weak and struggling to stand. He said she completed an important shoot before travelling to Delhi for an advertisement, despite her condition, and was diagnosed with dengue after returning to Mumbai. Chandwani said he had repeatedly urged her to postpone her professional commitments, but she insisted on continuing because she did not want the producers or crew to lose time or money.
“I did try to change her mind, but she has always pushed herself and tried to be as less of an ‘inconvenience’ as possible to her team,” he said. Avika was subsequently hospitalised and continued to recover under medical supervision. Chandwani later revealed that even after her fever subsided, she was dealing with lingering weakness, fatigue and body pain and had been advised 15 days of bed rest. Her platelet count, which had initially dropped, was also showing signs of improvement.

On August 8, actor Swara Bhasker took to Instagram to share that she had been diagnosed with dengue and hospitalised.

Shweta Tiwari
Another actor who left fans worried about her health was Shweta Tiwari. Just a day before the premiere of *The Traitors Season 2*, on August 12, reports emerged that Tiwari had been hospitalised after contracting dengue. According to the reports, the actor was undergoing treatment and remained under medical care ahead of the show’s premiere.
Poonam Dhillon
Veteran actor and former CINTAA president Poonam Dhillon was reported to have been hospitalised at Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital after being diagnosed with dengue. On August 22, journalist Vickey Lalwani reported that Dhillon had been battling the illness for approximately a week before being admitted and was recovering under medical care. Dhillon reportedly responded to his message and said she was recovering. However, she has now recovered and also made a public appearance during a recent press conference.
Pulkit Samrat
On August 18, actor Pulkit Samrat shared a health update on Instagram, revealing that he had been battling malaria. Known for his rigorous fitness routine, the actor posted a photograph of himself resting in bed and spoke about the physical toll the infection had taken.
“Malaria took a little more out of me than I expected. Lost 2.5 kg of muscle and a fair bit of strength. But I know this body. We’ve built it before. We’ll build it again,” he wrote. His post highlighted the impact of the illness on his fitness, particularly the loss of muscle and strength, while also signalling his intention to return to his routine after recovering.
Chandni Bhabhda
Content creator and actor Chandni Bhabhda also shared a dengue-related health warning on Instagram on August 21, 2026. In her post, she warned Mumbaikars about the mosquito menace and revealed that she had herself been diagnosed with dengue.
Her Instagram post was captioned, “Bhaisahab Dengue faail raha hai, Bachke raho re baba…”, as she urged people to remain cautious. The update came amid concerns around mosquito-borne illnesses in Mumbai during the monsoon.
