Nature Morte marks 30 years with new gallery in Delhi
The art gallery marked three decades in Delhi with the opening of its new Gulmohar Park space, bringing together artists, collectors and curators.
Gulmohar Park got a stylish new spot over the weekend as contemporary gallery Nature Morte opened its new home with a big milestone, 30 years in Delhi’s art scene.
On Saturday evening, founder Peter Nagy and director Aparajita Jain welcomed artists, curators, and collectors over wine, conversations, and a first look at their new setup.
Peter Nagy, said, “Opening this new space feels like a homecoming for Nature Morte. After our years at Neeti Bagh and the intervening chapter at Dhan Mill, returning to a similar scale and neighbourhood feels both familiar and exciting.”
To this, Aparajita Jain added, “It offers an opportunity to reintroduce the gallery through the artists and ideas that have shaped our programme over the years, while creating space for new conversations and possibilities.”
Guests drifted through the spacious two-storey gallery and rooftop terrace, catching up while taking in the artworks on display. The ongoing two-part opening show, The Evolution of the Soothsayer, features mix of paintings, sculptures, and digital media from 17 artists across different generations, including Bharti Kher, Dayanita Singh, Alicja Kwade, and Thukral & Tagra.
Chapter One is open until October 10, before Chapter Two takes over from October 17.
