“There is no possibility of release of Rajesh and Nupur Talwar from Dasna Jail on Friday as we have not received the court order copy so far. Their release may take place on Monday as tomorrow is second Saturday,” lawyer of the Talwars’ Tanvir Mir Ahmed told PTI.

The Talwars were lodged in the Ghaziabad jail since November 2013 after being convicted by a Central Bureau of Investigation court.

While acquitting the couple of the murders, the Allahabad HC said that neither the circumstances nor the evidence was enough to hold them guilty

Here are highlights, a day after the Allahabad high court’s order:

5. 30 pm: Rajesh and Nupur Talwar not to be released from Dasna jail on Friday: Talwars’ lawyer Tanvir Mir Ahmed to ANI.

2.30pm: Actor Konkana Sen sharma has hailed Allahabad High Court’s decision to acquit the Talwar couple and said it is shameful the real killers are still unknown.

2pm: While the CBI court convicted the Talwars in 2013, the high court took a divergent view of the facts of the case and acquitted the parents. Here are the 10 reasons the high court gave for its decision.

12.10pm : “We have not received the court order as yet. We will release them once we get it,” Dasna jail superintendent Dadhiram Maurya told reporters.

11.50am: In his comments in the judgement, Justice Arvind Kumar Mishra of the Allahabad high court said that some reflection were needed on the style and approach of the trial Judge who convicted and sentence the Talwar couple.

11.35am: The verdict ends, at least for now, the nine-year ordeal of the Noida couple who were sentenced to life by a Ghaziabad CBI court on November 28, 2013 for the double murders that not only transfixed but also shook the nation with its element of filicide.
