An article, which suggested that Singhvi has freshly landed in tax trouble after Centre’s demonetisation move, was posted and shared on websites, social and other media over the past few days.

“There is no such new penalty/ new demand inasmuch as it was a penalty…raised two years ago in September 2014,” the legal notice sent through advocate Amit Bhandari said.

Bhandari said that his client got a stay from the high court against the 2014 tax demand and the matter was still pending adjudication before the court.

“My client and his family have noticed, in the last 4/5 days, that you, your organization, your sponsors, and employees and all people directly and indirectly associated with you are deliberately spreading misinformation, canards and untruths about my client by misusing your website, social and other media,” Singhvi’s legal notice said.
