“We have been asked to wait till further information,” an AIADMK lawmaker, who did not want to be identified, told IANS from the hospital. The MLAs have assembled inside a hall in the Apollo complex.

Jayalalithaa, who suffered a cardiac arrest on Sunday evening, has been in critical condition throughout Monday. The hospital also issued a statement saying she is in a “grave situation”.

The party head and chief minister has been in the hospital for more than two months after being initially admitted on complaints of high blood pressure and high fever.

A team of doctors have been monitoring her health, including specialists from AIIMS in Delhi and a London-based intensive care specialist.
