    Delhi police files FIR against wrestler protest organisers 

    Delhi police have filed FIR against protest organisers and others in connection with the scuffle that broke out at Jantar Mantar. The FIR has been filed under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections pertaining to rioting, offence by a member of an unlawful assembly, obstructing public servant from discharge of duty, disobedience to an order promulgated by a public servant, causing hurt to a public servant in discharge of duty, using criminal force to stop public servant from performing duty, and under the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act.

    South Korean court issues warrant for man who opened Asiana plane door mid-air

    A South Korean court issued an arrest warrant on Sunday for a passenger who opened an Asiana Airlines plane door minutes before it landed in Daegu, South Korea, Reuters reported citing Yonhap News Agency. 

    The man, in his thirties, was detained on landing on Friday after opening the door when the A321-200 plane was about 700 feet (213 metres) above the ground, causing panic onboard.

    Protesting wrestlers detained, police clearing protest site at Jantar Mantar

    Protesting wrestlers including Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia were detained by Delhi Police on Sunday after they breached the security cordon while trying to move towards the new Parliament building, where a women's Mahapanchayat was planned for the day, reported PTI. 

    In chaotic scenes witnessed at the Jantar Mantar, wrestlers and police officers shoved and pushed each other as Vinesh Phogat and her cousin sister Sangeeta Phogat tried to breach the barricades.

    An earthquake of magnitude 5.9 occurred 70 km southeast of Fayzabad, Afghanistan, at around 10.19 am, reported EMSC.

    Case against five persons for betting on IPL match in Maharashtra's Thane

    A criminal case has been registered against five persons in Maharashtra's Thane district for allegedly indulging in online betting on a cricket match of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL), police said on Sunday. Based on a tip-off, a police team raided a place near a tea stall in Mira Road area on Friday night and found the accused indulging in betting on a match of the present IPL season, an official from Navghar police station said, reported PTI.

    Govt takes possession of land worth 350 cr in MP's Bhopal after lease revocation

    The Bhopal district administration has taken possession of a 20 acre government land here worth 350 crore, rented to a Mumbai-based person six decades ago, after cancelling its lease for violation of norms, an official said. The land in Sewania Gaud area, near Upper Lake, was leased to the person in 1963 and the same was renewed in 2005, Bhopal Collector Ashish Singh said in a release. On visiting the spot, the district administration officials had found violation of the lease deed norms, he said, reported PTI.

    China's first homegrown passenger jet takes off on maiden commercial flight

    China's first domestically produced passenger jet, the C919, took off on its maiden commercial flight on Sunday.

    China Eastern Airlines flight MU9191 rose into the skies above Shanghai Hongqiao Airport just after 10:30 am (0230 GMT), footage from state broadcaster CCTV showed.

    The plane is carrying over 130 passengers on China Eastern Airlines flight MU9191 to Beijing's Capital International Airport, CCTV said. (AFP)

    US 'won't tolerate' China's ban on Micron chips: Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo

    The United States "won't tolerate" China's effective ban on purchases of Micron Technology memory chips and is working closely with allies to address such "economic coercion," US Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo said on Saturday.

    Raimondo told a news conference after a meeting of trade ministers in the US-led Indo-Pacific Economic Framework talks that the US "firmly opposes" China's actions against Micron, Reuters reported.

    'Massive' Russian drone attack kills one in Kyiv: Ukraine

    One civilian has died in Kyiv after a "massive" drone attack on the Ukrainian capital, the city's mayor Vitali Klitschko said Sunday, reported AFP. 

    "A 35-year-old woman was hospitalised, a 41-year-old man died," the mayor and former boxer said on Telegram, reporting that drone wreckage had crashed near a petrol station.
