CBI registers three fresh FIRs against Chhota Rajan
The move comes more than two years after underworld don Chhota Rajan was arrested from Bali and deported to India in October 2015.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) took over three more old cases against underworld don Chhota Rajan and registered fresh cases on Thursday.
The move comes more than two years after Rajan was arrested from Bali and deported to India in October 2015. He is already facing trial in around six cases, which includes the murder of journalist J dey, where the prosecution has already begun its final arguments.
The first case involves an attempt to murder businessman Sham Sunder Raj, dated July 3, 1995. As per the statement given by Raj’s employee, some people opened fire at him while he was reading a newspaper in his office. He was grievously injured in the incident and later died.
In the second case, Rajan was booked for extortion done on his behest in July 2002.
The underworld don is now also booked for the murder of builder Gangaram Gupta, the case for which was first registered with Bandra police in March 1999. Gupta was shot dead by Rajan’s henchman on March 1, 1999.
