“We have identified Valley, Kargil and Leh as the first three centres where this scheme will be rolled out,” he said on the sidelines of an event to launch the revamped website of the ministry.

Naqvi’s ministry is already in talks with private security agencies, hospital and hotels to train youth and give them jobs in related sector.

The ministry has also reached out to states for setting up about 1,000 Sadbhawana Mandaps (harmony centres) across the country. These centres will be used for different occasions such as marriages and for organising local art and craft events.

The ministry is also planning to launch a mobile app to provide a platform to students to apply for various scholarships through their mobile phones, Naqvi said.
