Two coaches of Punjab-bound Patalkot Express catch fire in UP, detached; 13 people injured
Two coaches of the train caught fire but four were detached as it was feared to spread across all four coaches, said Prashasthi Srivastava, the PRO Agra Zone.
At least two coaches of Patalkot Express, en route to Punjab's Firozpur, caught fire near Bhandai station between Agra and Jhansi. 13 injuries have been reported so far.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Agra West Sonam Kumar confirmed that 13 people have been injured.

"Seven have sustained burn injuries although they are of less magnitude and treated at the emergency ward of SN Medical College and Hospital. Other six having simple injuries are admitted at a health facility near the spot where the train was stopped" said Kumar.

Hence, four coaches were detached from the train as soon as the smoke was noticed around 3.45 pm.
The fire was noticed in the GS coach, which is the fourth coach from the engine.
Over five fire brigades reached the spot, said Srivastava.

“Ambulance has reached there in case anybody is injured. No casualty nor anybody injured reported as yet. One of the passengers had hair burnt but saved,” Srivastava added.

Another train — Doorgami Express — stopped on the adjacent track and several passengers were moved from the spot through it.
Srivastava said that senior officials along with technical experts were on the spot and the exact reason for the fire in two bogies was yet to be assessed.
