Delhi Police on Tuesday termed a video claiming that a protest seeking reservation reforms was underway at the Jantar Mantar for a fifth day misleading.
The police clarified that no such protest is currently taking place at the Jantar Mantar and no permission was granted for any such demonstration on August 24, officials said.
The clarification came after a video circulating on social media purportedly showed a protest at the Jantar Mantar.

The police said that prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the BNSS – the erstwhile Section 144 of the CrPC – are already in force in the New Delhi district, barring protest marches, processions, demonstrations and assemblies of five or more persons.
The police advised the citizens not to forward or share unverified content and warned that legal action may be initiated against those found creating or disseminating fake news.
