ED issued a fresh summons to Shah’s daughter, Sama, 19, asking her to appear for questioning on Thursday in Delhi. This was the second time she was asked to appear before the agency this month.

The notices have been issued as part of a money laundering case Delhi Police’s special cell registered against Shah in 2005. Shah has been in jail since July 2017.

In March, Shah’s family was served a house attachment notice.

“My daughter was only five when the case was registered. She is in Manchester, UK, pursuing a degree in law and cannot travel to Delhi…,’’ said Shah’s wife, Bilquies.

“After ED found no evidence against Shabir Shah, it is now harassing our family.’’ Bilquies said she has written to the ED, seeking Sama’s exemption from personal appearance.
